Cookies

In short: we store nothing in your browser.

In short

The website sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser – whether you are reading the pages, looking at the cabins or sending a booking request. That is why we do not ask for consent, and you will not see a cookie banner.

The exception is the video under “Activities”: it is only loaded when you click on it yourself, and YouTube may then store information in your browser according to its own rules.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser, for example to remember settings or to track what you do across websites. Similar storage in the browser (local storage) is treated the same way.

Third-party services

The fonts are hosted on our own server. The map and the video are loaded from other providers, and they then receive your IP address, as every website you visit does:

ServiceWhat it is used forWhen
OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, United Kingdom)The map in the contact section of the front page. OpenStreetMap receives your IP address when the map loads. When we last checked (October 2026), the map did not set any cookies. How OpenStreetMap processes the data is described in their privacy policy. When you are on the front page
YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd.)The video under “Activities”. It is only loaded from youtube-nocookie.com when you click on it.Only when you start the video

Visitor statistics

We count visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device. What is measured and how long it is kept is described in the privacy policy.

For Søya Gard staff

When staff log in to update the website, the login and some settings for the administration system are stored in their browser. This is necessary for the login to work and does not apply to visitors.

How to control it yourself

You can view, delete and block cookies in your browser settings. As soeya.no does not set any itself, you do not need to do anything for this website.
